EOC Week 10: Channels in which to advertise

My campaign would be advertised throughout an omni channel market. I would not waste the money on billboards, but a company as large as Chevrolet would indeed do such investing in the way I would ideally put my advertisement out.

Ideally, I would want there to be a commercial that ran, a television commercial that ran. With a spin off of the same angel used in my campaign, but more of a focus on this angel trying to better himself, in the gym, and conditioning in order to outfly this fast Camaro.

Prints in magazines targeted towards men and car lovers would be a basic.

Product placement would be ideal in movies about action, superheroes, and getaway cars being used.

Aired television commercials would be during the evenings, when men are home from work.

There would be an increase in running commercials throughout the months of January through April, when people are getting their tax refunds.

WEEK 9 EOC: Movie VS. Current Political Campaign

Four comparisons between the current political situation and movie watched.

1.    Humor
a.     The movie used humor to deflect from the serious issues within the campaign itself. The campaign for the yes vote tried to make ridicule over the ones with the no vote. The same way Donald Trump is using humor to Ridicule Marco Rubio during debates.
2.     Smear Campaigns
a.     A smear campaign is used in the real world, at the end of the day, each camp is going to trash talk the other, point out all of the negatives about their opponent. The whole movie was really about that type of campaign. Entire groups were being hired to make sure that the opponent looked bad, in this case the opponent wasn’t a person but more so a decision.
3.     Two Parties.
a.     There were two parties involved the yes and the no in the movie, and In the current situation it is the democrat and the republican campaign.
4.     The “I’m Doing good effect”

a.     I think this is probably the most effective of all of the comparisons. They asked a lady why she was voting for yes, and she basically said “Yes” is doing good for her. She is in a good place in her life, financially stable, she sees a peaceful future, she “doesn’t know” what injustices people are talking about. The Trump supporters are kind of taking the same stance. They are wealthy business men with good lives right now, they support a business man like themselves, and do not want the democratic party to win. They pretend not to see these issues within society. If they like the stance businessman Trump is taken, then there is no need for them to acknowledge anything else, they are doing fine so who cares abut the injustices done to others.

Analysis of Project in the Real World

This Ad looks like something that in the real world, would be played on channels as a commercial, with a little bit more of a time frame, there would have been an actual video production of this campaign that would have been slightly more satirical than the print Ad.

"In an overcrowded, competitive marketplace, relevant and engaging branding can ensure efficacy for a quality product, service, group, individual, or commodity. Not only does branding identify and distinguish, it builds equity (the value of the brand or group)."(Landa, Robin. Advertising by Design: Generating and Designing Creative Ideas Across Media, Pg. 49)

The automobile market place is one of great competition, therefore ads do have to be more stand out than others. I believe that our religious and comedic undertone would make for an edgy campaign. It would build the equity of the brand.

"Very few products, services, or groups are unique; most are parity products, that is, they offer qualities and functions similar or identical to those of their competitors. Branding and advertising differentiates these parity products, services, and groups in a crowded marketplace." (Landa, Robin. Advertising by Design: Generating and Designing Creative Ideas Across Media, Pg. 49)

The branding behind this I believe is in line with that of Chevrolet and it's competitors. My campaign would survive in this large market.
